Gilbert Trausch and the Robert Schuman House

The birth house of Robert Schuman was bought in 1990 by the Luxembourgish gouvernement which installed the Centre d’Études et des Recherches européennes (CERE) in the Maison Robert Schuman. From 1990 to 2001 the CERE was directed by Gilbert Trausch, the most prominent Luxembourg historian of his time. Trausch taught at the Centre Universitaire de Luxembourg, at the University of Liège and in the European College in Bruges. He was a specialist of Luxembourgish history and of the history of European integration. This presentation sheds some lights on the role of Gilbert Trausch at the CERE and the Maison Schuman.
